Let’s get your dog ready for their photo shoot! Dogs can get just as anxious as us about trying new things, so be sure to get them ready for their big day. Here are our tips and steps on how to prepare your furbaby.
Session time:
Keep in mind when scheduling the photo session when your dog is naturally more relaxed. After a nap or exercise is the best.
Training:
During the photo shoot, there will times for your furbaby to sit, jump, and show off their tricks. Practice basic commands like sit, stay, and “look here”. Remember to reward them with treats and praise, then repeat in the same manner while in the shoot.
Grooming:
We want your dog to look their best on their special day. Give them a good bath and a brush to get any tangles out. Even better, you could gift them a spa day with a trim and pamper.
Bring treats and toys:
Remember to pack their favorite treats and a toy to have something to enjoy while at the photoshoot. We can also use them during the shoot for a little convincing.
Exercise:
To help your furbaby feel a bit more relaxed, and prevent the excited tinkle during the shoot, take them on a little walk before the session. Either in your neighborhood or arrive early and walk around the block near the studio. This can help burn off excess energy, so they are calmer during the session.
Lastly, stay calm and patient:
Dogs can sense their owner’s mood and vibes, so staying relaxed and patient will help your dog feel more at ease.
